Fantastic taste is a
prerequisite for us when choosing Seriously Good food. Some of our
producers have been organised enough to actually enter their food
for some awards, so here's the low-down on the winners podium…
PRIMROSE
HERD
Premium pork products from traditional breeds. Winner of 2 Gold
and 2 Silver awards at the Great Taste Awards 2003.
TYWARDREATH
BUTCHERS
A while back but a prestigious accolade: winner of The Guardian
and BBC's Food and Drink programme "People's Sausage Quest
1993" (the competition hasn't been held since). They have also
won special awards for their Pork and Apple and Lamb and Mint sausages.
CORNISH
CUISINE
Winners of several regional, national and international awards including
six Medals for Great Taste `The Oscars of the Food Industry'; a
Gold at the International Food Festival and seven World medals.
THE
CHOUGH BAKERY OF PADSTOW
To add to their numerous awards Choughs were recently given a Silver
medal at the Taste of the West 2000 food show. These awards are
only given to the very best of West Country produce and theirs was
the only Cornish pasty to receive recognition.
VILLAGE
GREEN HARD GOATS CHEESE
won Best World Class Hard Cheese at the Royal Bath & West Show
1998 and Best Hard Goats Cheese at Nantwich International Cheese
Show: Reserve Champion Of Show at the West Country Food Awards 1999.
GEVRIK
is a World Cheese Awards 2003, Gold Medal Winner.
ENGLISH
GOAT'S CHEDDAR
British and World Cheese Awards Gold Medal Winner 2003.
WHALESBOROUGH
FARM FOODS - TRELAWNEY
was a Bronze winner at the British Cheese Awards 2000 and 2002.
WHALESBOROUGH
FARM FOODS - MISS MUFFET
was `Very Highly Commended at the Bath & West Show `99 and winner
of the 3rd prize Speciality Cheese at the Devon County Show 2000.
