MISS
MUFFET, TRELAWNY AND THE CORNISH CHEESE WITH NO NAME FROM
WHALESBOROUGH FARM FOODS
Nearly
1,000 years ago, Whalesborough Farm on the North Cornish coast
was recorded in the Domesday book. Since then the farm has
nurtured crops and sustained generations of farm animals grazing
on this beautiful, rugged stretch of coastline above the Atlantic
ocean. In 1999 Sue Proudfoot began creating hand-crafted award
winning farmhouse cheeses.
Trelawny,
winner of the Bronze British Cheese Awards 2000 and 2002 is
an excellent traditional Cornish pasteurised cow's milk mould
ripened cheese using vegetarian rennet. This full fat cheese,
cut and blocked using organic milk from a local herd of pedigree
Ayrshire cows, gives a clean, full, lemon flavour with creamy
aftertaste and slightly crumbly, moist texture.
Miss
Muffet, very highly commended Bath & West Show `99 and
3rd prize speciality cheese at the Devon County Show 2000,
is a very popular Cornish pasteurised cow's milk mould ripened
cheese using vegetarian rennet. A full, creamy, round flavour
with a supple texture. Miss Muffet has her own growing fan
club and we're full signed up members, this is one of our
personal favourites.
