Nice people make nice things. That's why Honeybun's stuff
tastes so good and you'd never know it was gluten free, it's
just yummy. These Dorset bakers and makers are Lilliputian
when compared to the more Behemoth commercial bakeries
producing cakes in conveyor belt fashion, just so you know,
you can taste the difference.
Their focus is on making yummyliciously good things from as
many good, local ingredients as possible. They are careful
about food miles but have to make compromises on things like
pecan nuts. Wherever they can, they source the non UK grown
ingredients from Europe rather than further afield. The fact
that their cakes are gluten free and sometimes dairy free too
is an added point of interest. Their number one priority is
flavour & texture or "mouthfeel" which they
spend a lot of time on, when developing new products. It just
so happens that they prefer using ground toasted nuts, seeds,
polenta & quinoa to regular wheat flour.
